AWS Administrator (part-time)
Location for this role: Remote
Data Lens is seeking a hands-on AWS administrator for part-time support work. This is a contract position best suited for a consultant who can serve in a part-time support role capacity.

Responsibilities:
- AWS Infrastructure Management:
- Deploy, configure, and manage AWS cloud resources, including but not limited to EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and VPCs.
- EC2 instance administration is a must (backup/recovery, security, optimization, scheduling)
- Implement best practices for resource provisioning, scaling, and monitoring.
- Security and Compliance:
- Design and implement robust security measures for AWS environments, including access controls, encryption, and network security.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Set up and maintain monitoring tools to track the performance of AWS resources.
- Identify and implement optimizations to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for AWS resources.
- Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and manage AWS costs, optimizing resource usage to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and budget planning.
- Automation:
- Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide AWS solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of AWS configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
- Respond to incidents and outages promptly, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with support teams and vendors to resolve complex technical problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an AWS Administrator or in a similar role.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of AWS services and architectures.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with Matillion ETL and/or Snowflake is a plus
